A Sad Christmas!

A movie called "Escape Room" is about a group friends who were trapped in an unknown place. They find different ways to figure out to escape but were not able to and led most of them to death. 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. 28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me . John 5: 27-30 - A Sad Christmas! We were also trapped by our sins and transgressions. And tried our best through good works so we can go to heaven. And that's the reason we give money to the poor or the needy to think it would help us getting there. But we are wrong.  Christmas is not just the birth of Jesus, it's also His dea...

The Son of Man

John 5: 27   And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.   Here we see Jesus relationship with the Father. How intimate it is that the Father gave him the authority to judge.  But what does "Son of Man" mean? This does not mean that Jesus was son of Joseph the husband of Mary who conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Let's read the book of   Daniel 7: 13-14  to help us understand why Jesus has this title being the "Son of Man". 13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Jesus was obviously fulfilling the prophecy of Daniel when he said in...

Christmas is LIFE!

John 5: 26 26   For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.   One week more to go for Christmas. I'm pretty sure all are excited celebrating holidays with with loved ones. But don't you know that Christmas is about life?  As God gave His only Son so everyone who believes will have eternal life (Jn 3:16). This would tell that God is a life giver. As He himself has life.  Can you give your life to others this Christmas? Not necessarily a material thing but perhaps a short period of time by spending or even sharing your life to other people would be a greatest gift you can give. And if you have  ever wondered where the life come from. It's from God.  For God himself is life. Therefore, He is the source and the author of life. It's gonna be 2018 next year. It's gonna be another year to add to our age. Another life to thank God that He remains faithful to us. Friends, as ...

The Voice Of The Judge.

John 5: 25 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.  I am so blessed to have Jesus in life as Savior and Lord because I will be one of those who would hear His voice and will live for eternity. We don't know for sure what He's gonna tell us that day. But in one of the parables a Master said to His servant "Well done my good and faithful servant."  That's maybe what Jesus would tell us when He comes back.  Notice by the way, He didn't say "great" but "good". He didn't say "successful" but "faithful". Friends, it's okay not to be great nor successful in the things that God entrusted you to do. Just do it with faithfulness and even how small it is God would consider it as good. Jesus is obviously referring to His second coming for His saints. It's is one of His promises that I am so excited to look fo...

The Access to Heaven.

John 5:24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. We knew that by believing in Jesus only we can have an eternal life (Jn 3:16) and some other places in the Scriptures. This statement  of Jesus does not contradict at all when He said "believes him who sent me has eternal life" which obviously referring to the Father.  Jesus was helping His listeners to understand that He is "equal" to the Father. Notice He said" whoever hears my word". He was referring to Himself as the "Word of God" if we look back John 1:1;14. Listening to His word simply means listening to Him. As we he was speaking to the Jewish leaders who disagreed with Him. In John 14:1 Jesus said " “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me". See, believing God means believing Jesus. We see here the...

The Road.

John 5:23 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.  Jesus statement became more not acceptable to the ears of Jewish leaders this time. Notice, He said "all may honor the Son". Not some. Therefore each and everyone must give honor to Him.  John in his little book in First John make it more dangerous. He used the word "deny" which has the same verb meaning with  disagree, renounce, decline even refuse or reject.  1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:  (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also . (KJV). But you see, how God gives us the chance? Both Jesus and John didn't stop there. They still gives options that those who honors and acknowledges the Son does the same to the Father. There is no bypass at all. Must go through Jesus always.  Let's back up a little of what John has said "whoe...

The Believer's Hope.

John 5:20-22 - The Believer's Hope. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.  21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,  Jesus said the Father shows him all he does because the Father loves him in verse 20. He added there were even "greater works" that the Father will show him so the Jewish leaders who plotted to kill him will be amazed. What are these greater works Jesus was referring to? If we look at the context which can be found in the next verse ,  Jesus was talking about resurrection.  This is obviously regarding the " resurrection of the saints" that Apostle Paul pointed out to the Corinthian church.  I would like to talk more about resurrection because thi...

How's Your Love?

John 5:20 - How's Your Love? Surely you have loved ones, it could be your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend. Or even a friend whom you loved so much. But how could you show him / her your love?  In this verse, Jesus was telling his audiences the Jewish leaders that the Father loves him by showing him all he does, as in everything. No secret at all. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.  We're all familiar with Jesus baptism when a voice from heaven said "  "This is my beloved Son, in Him I am well pleased. " That was a proof how Father love's His son, Jesus. But how about us? How's our love to others? How do we love?  How do we show our love? Can you show or make greater works to the one we love? That makes people amaze. We probably don't have too much in material things. But even in simple things we can show...

More than obedience

John 5: 19 - More Than Obedience. 19   Jesus gave them this answer:  “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.   Surely no doubt Jesus submission to the Father is immeasurable. His obedience is indeed a perfect example to all of us. I am truly humbled to have Jesus in my heart and by His grace he captured me to be part of His never ending Kingdom.  This is in response to the Jewish leaders who began to persecute Him because He heals at the day of Sabbath and making Himself equal to God. It was amazing how Jesus demonstrate his authority by telling them it was the Father whom he obeyed. Yet he also tell them the very reason is that "whatever the Father does the Son also does" . In other words He and the Father does not contradict but in one purpose and power. Obviously, when the Jewish leaders heard these statements of Jesus, it doe...
