The Access to Heaven.

John 5:24

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

We knew that by believing in Jesus only we can have an eternal life (Jn 3:16) and some other places in the Scriptures. This statement  of Jesus does not contradict at all when He said "believes him who sent me has eternal life" which obviously referring to the Father.

Jesus was helping His listeners to understand that He is "equal" to the Father. Notice He said" whoever hears my word". He was referring to Himself as the "Word of God" if we look back John 1:1;14. Listening to His word simply means listening to Him. As we he was speaking to the Jewish leaders who disagreed with Him.

In John 14:1 Jesus said " “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me". See, believing God means believing Jesus. We see here the equality of Jesus to the Father.

These are one of the things that the Jewish leaders didn't understand. That only in Jesus we can have access to the Father. And even today there are people who does not understand the works of Jesus on the cross of our salvation. And as well His deity.

People celebrates Christmas every year still think Jesus was still on a manger. They don't understand He crucified on the cross for our sins so we can have access to the Father.

Although we cannot find the word Christmas in the Bible but let's celebrate this month because we have a savior who is God in nature but became flesh, born through a virgin birth, died on the cross for our salvation and now sit at the right hand of the Father.

John 3: 1 - 21 " The License To Heaven".

In order for us to drive a vehicle legally we must have a driver's license. And to get a driver's license is not an easy thing. You have to always undergo the protocol such physical examination that includes a series of test like drug test. And if you'll pass the physical examination. Next is you will undergo through a driving test. And if you'll pass, then that's the time you can get your license to drive. But how about to get to heaven? Do we need a license? Let's read through the conversation of a noble Pharisee and Jesus as He explained to him how to get to heaven. 3  Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus  who was a member of the Jewish ruling council.   2  He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi,  we know  that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs  you are doing if God were not with him.” About Nicodemus: A Pharisee- Known to be law observer, teacher and expert. This man is...

Personal Devotions - Book of John 1: 1-8 - Jesus was the Word who became flesh but God and was with God in the beginning.

John 1:  1   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The word " beginning " refers back to the creation of the world in Gen 1:1 where it says " God created the heavens and earth. The Word was there during the creation of the world. And notice it's  capital  "W".  ... the Word was with God. There are two persons obviously here. ...the Word was God. Who is the Word? Answer: He is God in the beginning. Let's connect this to verse 14 where it says "   The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth". The Word in verse 1 that was with God and God himself is the same Word who became flesh or human.   ...made his dwelling among us simply means the Word  have lived on earth as a full human. ...his glory, the glory of the one and only Son. The Word was the only Son Jesus Christ. ...

Christmas is LIFE!

John 5: 26 26   For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.   One week more to go for Christmas. I'm pretty sure all are excited celebrating holidays with with loved ones. But don't you know that Christmas is about life?  As God gave His only Son so everyone who believes will have eternal life (Jn 3:16). This would tell that God is a life giver. As He himself has life.  Can you give your life to others this Christmas? Not necessarily a material thing but perhaps a short period of time by spending or even sharing your life to other people would be a greatest gift you can give. And if you have  ever wondered where the life come from. It's from God.  For God himself is life. Therefore, He is the source and the author of life. It's gonna be 2018 next year. It's gonna be another year to add to our age. Another life to thank God that He remains faithful to us. Friends, as ...
