John 5:20 - How's Your Love?
Surely you have loved ones, it could be your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend. Or even a friend whom you loved so much. But how could you show him / her your love?
In this verse, Jesus was telling his audiences the Jewish leaders that the Father loves him by showing him all he does, as in everything. No secret at all.
20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.
We're all familiar with Jesus baptism when a voice from heaven said " "This is my beloved Son, in Him I am well pleased. " That was a proof how Father love's His son, Jesus.
But how about us? How's our love to others? How do we love? How do we show our love? Can you show or make greater works to the one we love? That makes people amaze.
We probably don't have too much in material things. But even in simple things we can show our love to others. Even praying them, more importantly praying those whom hurts you? Can we do it? Can we pray for those who hurt us?
I can show my love to others or neighbors by letting them get a gallon of water from my faucet for free. In my place today, people sometimes run out of water. By God's grace it happened, I do have more supply so I had them get a water without asking them money. Those are only simple things. And I started gaining good relationship with them.
An officemate of mine as well who happened to have no money. I let her lend without asking for interest that's what Jesus said in Luke 6:35. It was not a big amount though. But that's fine as long as I do it out of love.
Surely the Father does showed His love to us even if we hurt Him by disobeying his commands. As Romans 5:8 says "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." What a perfect demonstration of God's love towards us. He let his son died so we can be friends with him again.
And hey, Christmas is coming to town. Are we gonna show love to the people around us because it's Christmas? How about if it's not Christmas. Can we remain loving to them even before and after Christmas? Hopefully we can, as most people only show their love on Christmas.
How's your love?
