Who are the Pharisees?

John 5: 16-18 16   So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him.  17   In his defense Jesus said to them,  “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”   18   For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.  It's amazing to know that God has always and would not stop working in my life. As I still have things in life that I need God's mercy to change and mold me. In spite of being not perfect, yet I have a perfect and loving God who always there for me. Lift me up in times of down and sad moments. Every single day, God through His word speaks to me and with His Holy Spirit who convicts and leads me to obey His word. I can't go on serving Him without His grace.  The powerful response of Jesus in verse 17 destructed ...

The Life We Ought To Be.

If there is one thing that you love most in you life, what is it? John 5:13-15 The verses below was about the invalid man for 38-years  whom Jesus healed. It was Jesus who offered the healing for him.  13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. 14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well. In all the things in the world. It was the "sin" that Jesus was telling him to stop. Jesus said to him "... Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” Does it mean he's gonna be invalid or disable again? I don't think so. This means that sin in our lives does not have a good result. Jesus was telling him that if he keeps on sinning it's going to ruin his spiritual life. See friends, Jesus was not only helpin...

The Healer's Way

After I graduated high school. I enrolled an Education course in College because I wanted to be a teacher. That was how I planned, it was the way I made my future. But God has its own way. For sure you have plans for your future as well. But what if God has His own plans for you? John 15:1-15 In the previous story where Jesus healed the dying son of a royal officer we learned it was him who went to Jesus and asked for his son's healing (John 4: 43-53). Here it's quite different because it was Jesus who offered a healing to a disabled man for 38-years. He said in verse 6 "Do you want to get well?" If we read the entire story found in John 15:1-15. There we see a great number of people waited for healing. There are blinds, lame and the paralyzed. In the context we cannot clearly know how they will be healed but surely they're not waiting for Jesus. In verse 7  the disabled man whom offered for healing said "  “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no on...

He heals, in His will.

Is there something in your lives that you've been asking to God. But until now you didn't get it? Let's read a story of a dying son of a Royal Officer whom God healed on the spot. John 4:43-54 43 After the two days he left for Galilee. 44 (Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) 45When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, for they also had been there. God has always a plan. If your own hometown, family members, or friends disowned you. Don't take it as failures. But pray and God will have something better for you that you don't imagine. He has already prepared something where you can do the things He entrusted you to do. 46 Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. 47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee fro...

It's Time for Harvest.

If you love to travel to different places and found out that there is a promo for an airplane fare? What's your immediate response. Would you grab it now or later? John 4:27-42 Here is a story of a Samaritan woman who immediately went home  without hesitation. And  share Jesus to the people at her home town. 27 Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?” 28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him. The Samaritan woman didn't wait until the next hour. She then went home immediately and shared Jesus to the people in their community. I guess with too much excitement, she even left her water jar so she can share Jesus to her friends and loved ones. As a first timer of meeting ...

Would like a "Forever"?

#Walang Forever "No Forever". I'm sure you've always heard this phrase. And it was referring to a non lasting boyfriend and girlfriend relationship. A no "forever" relationship. Let's read the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman. How Jesus assured her that only in Him she can find her forever.  John 4:7-26 The Water that gives you "Forever". 7   When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her,  “Will you give me a drink?”   9   The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. )  10   Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”    11   “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?  12   Are you greater th...

The Man's Danger.

Have you been to a situation that brought your life in danger? I was, when I was in college and underwent through an acute pancreatic operation. I thought I would die that time. Many of us have probably been into a different dangerous situation in life.  What we will be reading and studying in this passage is the danger of rejecting Jesus.  22  After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized.   22a  After this - Referring to his conversation with Nicodemus in the previous verses. Where Jesus taught him that a man must be born again to see and enter the kingdom of God. 22b. he spent some time with them, and baptized - In John 4:2 It says " although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples.   Baptism is a sign of obedient and a public confession that you are a follower of Jesus. It does not help us to get saved because salvation can be obtain only ...

John 3: 1 - 21 " The License To Heaven".

In order for us to drive a vehicle legally we must have a driver's license. And to get a driver's license is not an easy thing. You have to always undergo the protocol such physical examination that includes a series of test like drug test. And if you'll pass the physical examination. Next is you will undergo through a driving test. And if you'll pass, then that's the time you can get your license to drive. But how about to get to heaven? Do we need a license? Let's read through the conversation of a noble Pharisee and Jesus as He explained to him how to get to heaven. 3  Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus  who was a member of the Jewish ruling council.   2  He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi,  we know  that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs  you are doing if God were not with him.” About Nicodemus: A Pharisee- Known to be law observer, teacher and expert. This man is...
