Who are the Pharisees?

John 5: 16-18

16 So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him.

17 In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”

18 For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

It's amazing to know that God has always and would not stop working in my life. As I still have things in life that I need God's mercy to change and mold me. In spite of being not perfect, yet I have a perfect and loving God who always there for me. Lift me up in times of down and sad moments.

Every single day, God through His word speaks to me and with His Holy Spirit who convicts and leads me to obey His word. I can't go on serving Him without His grace.

The powerful response of Jesus in verse 17 destructed the Jewish leaders a lot which led them to kill Him. It disturbed their ego knowing Jesus, not only He healed sick people on the Sabbath but making himself equal with God.

Therefore, it's no surprise even today there are religious groups who denied Jesus deity. I don't want to name names but we know who are they.

But wait, how about us Christians who believed Jesus as God. Do we not also deny Him by not sharing His love to others? This verse in Matthew 10:33 that says "But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven", really struck me because we think that the Pharisees who are the only ones who denied Jesus as God. Yet, we Christians as well deny Jesus to others by not sharing His gospel.

When Jesus said, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” That does not mean we also have to work by telling people they need Jesus as their Lord and Savior of their lives? How would they know Jesus as God and Savior if we don't tell them? As Paul says in Romans Romans 10:14 "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?".

Friends, think who are the Pharisees in this generation?

The Life We Ought To Be.

If there is one thing that you love most in you life, what is it? John 5:13-15 The verses below was about the invalid man for 38-years whom Jesus healed. It was Jesus who offered the healing for him. 13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. 14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well. In all the things in the world. In order for us to drive a vehicle legally we must have a driver's license. And to get a driver's license is not an easy thing. You have to always undergo the protocol such physical examination that includes a series of test like drug test. And if you'll pass the physical examination. Christmas is LIFE!

John 5: 26 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. One week more to go for Christmas. I'm pretty sure all are excited celebrating holidays with with loved ones. But don't you know that Christmas is about life? As God gave His only Son so everyone who believes will have eternal life (Jn 3:16). This would tell that God is a life giver. As He himself has life. Can you give your life to others this Christmas? Not necessarily a material thing but perhaps a short period of time by spending or even sharing your life to other people would be a greatest gift you can give. And if you have ever wondered where the life come from. It's from God. For God himself is life. Therefore, He is the source and the author of life. It's gonna be 2018 next year.
