What makes you contented?

A friend of mine quiets from her job. Her reason was, SHE'S NO LONGER HAPPY. I agree that happiness is difficult to acquire unless you are contented of what you have.

Contentment has been a struggle to anyone. Because we always want more. We are not contented of what we have. We are deceived by our selfish desire.

Perhaps, a good example is the technology, a mobile phone in specific. Even if we know our mobile still working fine although it's an old model but because we want the latest model. We tend to quickly decide to get one. We even don't think if we have still money left for our basic needs. More importantly, we don't seek God if we need to get a latest mobile phone.

Paul reminds Timothy of being contented.  "1 Timothy 6:6-12 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Why ?

For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

What we are going to do?

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

Paul was reminding us to live a godly lives with contentment. Yes we are christians and saved by God's grace through faith. Yet our lifestyle is full of selfishness by getting all what we wanted or what our flesh wants.

If our friends has the latest stuff, we think we have to get one too because we don't want to be out of date. We always want to please ourselves and not to God.

Remember when Eve was tempted by Satan in the Garden because she the fruit of the tree pleasing and desirable.

"When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Genesis 3:6"

That's us sometimes, don't we? When there is an ads on TV about latest stuff or gadgets. We found it pleasing and desirable to our eyes. Watch out brothers and sisters. Don't be deceived.

The Life We Ought To Be.

If there is one thing that you love most in you life, what is it? John 5:13-15 The verses below was about the invalid man for 38-years  whom Jesus healed. It was Jesus who offered the healing for him.  13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. 14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well. In all the things in the world. It was the "sin" that Jesus was telling him to stop. Jesus said to him "... Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” Does it mean he's gonna be invalid or disable again? I don't think so. This means that sin in our lives does not have a good result. Jesus was telling him that if he keeps on sinning it's going to ruin his spiritual life. See friends, Jesus was not only helpin...

What are your New Year's resolution?

I'm pretty sure we have New Year's resolution in our bucket list for the year 2018. We've been accustomed to have one. But are we going to really follow all of them? It's been common for most us to make a list of our New Year's resolution but we cannot deny the fact that we failed to follow them.  In these verses below, Paul explained the reason why we all fail.   “There is no one righteous, not even one;  there is no one who understands;  there is no one who seeks God.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless;  there is no one who does good, not even one.”  Romans 3:10-12. These verses simply means regardless of what religion you have or you belongs to. You are dead in the eyes of God. There are no exceptions.  Now, since there is no one is righteous that means no one can see God. That's why Christ died for our sins so we'll have access to God through Him. He is only perfect man who is God by nature who...

The Son of Man

John 5: 27   And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.   Here we see Jesus relationship with the Father. How intimate it is that the Father gave him the authority to judge.  But what does "Son of Man" mean? This does not mean that Jesus was son of Joseph the husband of Mary who conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Let's read the book of   Daniel 7: 13-14  to help us understand why Jesus has this title being the "Son of Man". 13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Jesus was obviously fulfilling the prophecy of Daniel when he said in...
