John 1: 15-18 Jesus as God and the only way to the Father. No shortcut, only through Him.

15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ ”)

  • Even John acknowledged Jesus deity when he said "he was before me". In other words, he know Jesus was God one hundred percent that there were people in his time could not accept it even today. Cults religion or beliefs believed Jesus was just a mere man and not God.
16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.
  • John declared Jesus grace has been given freely for all us. Not only to the Jews but even to the Gentiles. It's only by His grace were saved, there's nothing in us to contribute for our salvation. It's hundred percent God's given grace. Our works are nothing and useless.

17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
  • John continue to explain here as he was speaking to the Jews as they were all familiar with Moses as the one giving them the law to follow to please God in the old testament. Yet he didn't stop there. He started to introduce to the Jews about grace and truth through Jesus Christ.
  • The grace through Jesus that saves us from condemnation and the truth that lead us to the light. There's no lie in Jesus. It's all truth in Him. If we trust Him we can assure of getting an eternal life because He is the truth.

18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known

  • As God is holy and we are sinners we cannot see God or else we will die because of our sins. But notice John was clearly stating that Jesus the one and only Son as God himself with closest relationship with the father. What John was saying here is that Jesus is the only way for us to see God. There's no one and nothing else. So if we would like to see God we have to go through Jesus. There is no shortcut.
Personal Application:
I would like to demonstrate the life of Jesus to my friends as He is the only way to the Father. I should be gracious to everyone as Jesus himself gives his grace for my eternal life.

The Life We Ought To Be.

If there is one thing that you love most in you life, what is it? John 5:13-15 The verses below was about the invalid man for 38-years  whom Jesus healed. It was Jesus who offered the healing for him.  13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. 14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well. In all the things in the world. It was the "sin" that Jesus was telling him to stop. Jesus said to him "... Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” Does it mean he's gonna be invalid or disable again? I don't think so. This means that sin in our lives does not have a good result. Jesus was telling him that if he keeps on sinning it's going to ruin his spiritual life. See friends, Jesus was not only helpin...

What are your New Year's resolution?

I'm pretty sure we have New Year's resolution in our bucket list for the year 2018. We've been accustomed to have one. But are we going to really follow all of them? It's been common for most us to make a list of our New Year's resolution but we cannot deny the fact that we failed to follow them.  In these verses below, Paul explained the reason why we all fail.   “There is no one righteous, not even one;  there is no one who understands;  there is no one who seeks God.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless;  there is no one who does good, not even one.”  Romans 3:10-12. These verses simply means regardless of what religion you have or you belongs to. You are dead in the eyes of God. There are no exceptions.  Now, since there is no one is righteous that means no one can see God. That's why Christ died for our sins so we'll have access to God through Him. He is only perfect man who is God by nature who...

The Son of Man

John 5: 27   And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.   Here we see Jesus relationship with the Father. How intimate it is that the Father gave him the authority to judge.  But what does "Son of Man" mean? This does not mean that Jesus was son of Joseph the husband of Mary who conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Let's read the book of   Daniel 7: 13-14  to help us understand why Jesus has this title being the "Son of Man". 13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Jesus was obviously fulfilling the prophecy of Daniel when he said in...
