John 5: 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
Here we see Jesus relationship with the Father. How intimate it is that the Father gave him the authority to judge.
But what does "Son of Man" mean? This does not mean that Jesus was son of Joseph the husband of Mary who conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Let's read the book of Daniel 7: 13-14 to help us understand why Jesus has this title being the "Son of Man".
13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Jesus was obviously fulfilling the prophecy of Daniel when he said in John 5: 27 "The Father has given Him the authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. Meaning He was the one in Daniel's vision. How amazing, isn't it?
When Daniel saw "like a son of man" he was seeing Jesus in his vision. Interesting, Jesus existence in the old testament.
And friends, if you will continue to read verse 14, it humbles me personally. Knowing I have a powerful God, that all nations and peoples of every language worshipped Him according to Daniel. And that Apostle Paul agrees on in Philippians 2:10 when he said " that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth".
So friends, Son of Man means that Jesus has the authority to govern with the power and glory. That all nations regardless of what language will worship Him. And His kingdom will reign forever and ever. No one and will not be destroyed.
So what we are going to do now. Since we have Jesus that has the power and authority and kingdom that no one can destroy but will last forever. Simply, we have to keep trusting Him, not giving up. For He is always there for us in times of needs or difficulties. We may fail, but He is there to intercedes us to the Father.
