What makes you contented?

A friend of mine quiets from her job. Her reason was, SHE'S NO LONGER HAPPY. I agree that happiness is difficult to acquire unless you are contented of what you have.

Contentment has been a struggle to anyone. Because we always want more. We are not contented of what we have. We are deceived by our selfish desire.

Perhaps, a good example is the technology, a mobile phone in specific. Even if we know our mobile still working fine although it's an old model but because we want the latest model. We tend to quickly decide to get one. We even don't think if we have still money left for our basic needs. More importantly, we don't seek God if we need to get a latest mobile phone.

Paul reminds Timothy of being contented.  "1 Timothy 6:6-12 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Why ?

For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

What we are going to do?

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

Paul was reminding us to live a godly lives with contentment. Yes we are christians and saved by God's grace through faith. Yet our lifestyle is full of selfishness by getting all what we wanted or what our flesh wants.

If our friends has the latest stuff, we think we have to get one too because we don't want to be out of date. We always want to please ourselves and not to God.

Remember when Eve was tempted by Satan in the Garden because she the fruit of the tree pleasing and desirable.

"When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Genesis 3:6"

That's us sometimes, don't we? When there is an ads on TV about latest stuff or gadgets. We found it pleasing and desirable to our eyes. Watch out brothers and sisters. Don't be deceived.

John 3: 1 - 21 " The License To Heaven".

In order for us to drive a vehicle legally we must have a driver's license. And to get a driver's license is not an easy thing. You have to always undergo the protocol such physical examination that includes a series of test like drug test. And if you'll pass the physical examination. Next is you will undergo through a driving test. And if you'll pass, then that's the time you can get your license to drive. But how about to get to heaven? Do we need a license? Let's read through the conversation of a noble Pharisee and Jesus as He explained to him how to get to heaven. 3  Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus  who was a member of the Jewish ruling council.   2  He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi,  we know  that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs  you are doing if God were not with him.” About Nicodemus: A Pharisee- Known to be law observer, teacher and expert. This man is...

Christmas is LIFE!

John 5: 26 26   For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.   One week more to go for Christmas. I'm pretty sure all are excited celebrating holidays with with loved ones. But don't you know that Christmas is about life?  As God gave His only Son so everyone who believes will have eternal life (Jn 3:16). This would tell that God is a life giver. As He himself has life.  Can you give your life to others this Christmas? Not necessarily a material thing but perhaps a short period of time by spending or even sharing your life to other people would be a greatest gift you can give. And if you have  ever wondered where the life come from. It's from God.  For God himself is life. Therefore, He is the source and the author of life. It's gonna be 2018 next year. It's gonna be another year to add to our age. Another life to thank God that He remains faithful to us. Friends, as ...

The Road.

John 5:23 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.  Jesus statement became more not acceptable to the ears of Jewish leaders this time. Notice, He said "all may honor the Son". Not some. Therefore each and everyone must give honor to Him.  John in his little book in First John make it more dangerous. He used the word "deny" which has the same verb meaning with  disagree, renounce, decline even refuse or reject.  1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:  (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also . (KJV). But you see, how God gives us the chance? Both Jesus and John didn't stop there. They still gives options that those who honors and acknowledges the Son does the same to the Father. There is no bypass at all. Must go through Jesus always.  Let's back up a little of what John has said "whoe...
