The heart of a loving Father.


“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. Luke 15:11-20b

One of the famous parables in the Bible, they called it "The Prodigal Son". But I would like to call it "The Heart of a loving Father". 
Despite of the disobedient of the son. He was still willing to accept him back without questions or conditions. He showed compassion to him and embraced him with his loving arms. That's the heart of a loving father.
That's also our Father in Heaven. He is always compassionate and full of mercy. If we humble and draw near to Him, He will draw near to us and embrace us and more importantly He will forgive and cleanse our sins.

Romans 5:8 says "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. That's how He loved us through His only Son Jesus died on the cross for us. Isaiah 53:10 even says "Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,. See how Heavenly Father loved us by allowing His son suffered for our sins.

It's God who initiates for us to be back to His Kingdom and have an eternal life. It's all because of His unconditional love.

Personal Devotions - Book of John 1: 1-8 - Jesus was the Word who became flesh but God and was with God in the beginning.

John 1:  1   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The word " beginning " refers back to the creation of the world in Gen 1:1 where it says " God created the heavens and earth. The Word was there during the creation of the world. And notice it's  capital  "W".  ... the Word was with God. There are two persons obviously here. ...the Word was God. Who is the Word? Answer: He is God in the beginning. Let's connect this to verse 14 where it says "   The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth". The Word in verse 1 that was with God and God himself is the same Word who became flesh or human.   ...made his dwelling among us simply means the Word  have lived on earth as a full human. ...his glory, the glory of the one and only Son. Christmas is LIFE!

John 5: 26 26   For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.   One week more to go for Christmas. I'm pretty sure all are excited celebrating holidays with with loved ones. But don't you know that Christmas is about life?  As God gave His only Son so everyone who believes will have eternal life (Jn 3:16). This would tell that God is a life giver. As He himself has life.  Can you give your life to others this Christmas? Not necessarily a material thing but perhaps a short period of time by spending or even sharing your life to other people would be a greatest gift you can give. And if you have  ever wondered where the life come from. It's from God.  For God himself is life. Therefore, He is the source and the author of life. It's gonna be 2018 next year.
